Your L’GASP -GLBT Caucus has been actively involved in a
variety of projects in 2007. A new L’GASP
- GLBT Caucus flyer was created for
NSSLHA’S Fall newsletter. It’s available on our website for general
distribution. Feel free to download and distribute it to friends and
colleagues. Jen Meyer is to be commended
for her work in making this project a reality. A news article entitled, “L’GASP
- GLBT Caucus! The Story of One of ASHA’S Multicultural Constituency Groups”
was created with the help of Joe Melcher and Richard Adler. It appeared in the Division 10 Fall
Newsletter. An additional article is being prepared for the NSSLHA winter
newsletter. L’GASP - GLBT Caucus Multicultural Issues Board (MIB)
Representatives Karyn Helms, Jimmy Lee and At-Large member Thomas Hallahan’s
contact information has been added to our
website for your convenience.
Contact them for information and inquiries regarding activites of the
MIB.

Two ASHA designated hotels are located near the convention center. The
others are scattered from downtown to Back Bay (no greater than a
distance of 3 miles). The old convention center (John B. Hynes Veterans
Memorial Convention Center) is located in Back Bay and was the site of
the '97 ASHA convention.
L'GASP doesn't have a designated hotel but I'm including a list of gay accomodations:
Boston Gay Hotels (source:
GayCities: Boston)
Charles Street Inn
Luxury inn with all the frills, including in-room spa
94 Charles Street, Boston, MA
Clarendon Square Bed and Breakfast
A six-story Victorian townhouse with several room to stretch your legs
198 West Brookline St., Boston, MA
Encore Bed & Breakfast
Oh so modern B&B with stylish rooms named after famous family
South End - 116 West Newton Street, Boston, MA
Hotel Onyx and Nine Zero Hotel
Gay friendly hotels with several gay-themed packages.
Oasis Guest House
Private, gay-owned B&B with good views and a central location
Back Bay - 22 Edgerly Road, Boston, MA
Taylor House Bed and Breakfast
Let Dave, Daryl & their Golden Retrievers host you at this historic and comfy B&B
50 Burroughs Street, Jamaica Plain, MA
The Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro
Fancy, small hotel with unique rooms in historic district.
25 Charles Street, Boston, MA
The Chandler Inn
Very gay and in a good spot - connected to Fritz a cruise bar.
South End - 26 Chandler St., Boston, MA
In 1997, several L'GASP members stayed at the Oasis Guest House which
is 1/2 mile from the Hilton Boston Back Bay and Sheraton Boston and .7
mile from the Colonnade Boston, all of which are ASHA designated
hotels. The "T" is Boston's subway and several stops are located within
walking distance. While their rooms are small, their rates are
reasonable. The South End, Boston's primary gay section, is located
approximately 1 mile from this area but is easily accessed via the "T"
subway system.
The Chandler Inn, located in the South End, is .6 miles from Boston
Park Plaza, another ASHA designated hotel. I'm not familiar with the
other gay accomodations but I presume that most are close to a "T"
stop. You can map the establishment with ASHA hotels or local "T" stops
for more information.
The close proximity of the ASHA designated hotels may be useful for
those who wish to access ASHA's free shuttles to the convention center.
